Announcement by François Amy de la Bretèque:
I have just received the notice of death (August 2) from our friend Henri Bousquet that the oldest of us have known well. He was a loyal follower of the Giornate del Cinema Muto. He spent a number of years in Perpignan before retiring to the Paris region. He has written numerous times in Les Cahiers de la Cinémathèque and in our publications, beginning with the early French Cinema volume which undoubtedly determined his vocation. he became a recognized specialist of the Pathé filmography. The work of his life was the series of the Catalogs of the Pathé production from 1895 to 1925, which he published as an author, and for which he received two Mitry Prizes: that of the Cineteca del Friuli in Pordenone in 2005 shared with Yuri Tsivian) and that of the Jean-Vigo Institute in xxxx. It is a historical figure of field research on the first decades of the history of cinema that disappears.
Every Domitorian can share below emotions, memories and tributes to this memorable man whose legacy to early film history is unvaluable.
