Following up on our pledge to work toward more diversity in early film studies, we invite candidates to apply for a $500 award to present a paper at the next Domitor Conference. This bursary supports research by scholars based in the Global South and/or who identify as Black, Indigenous, Latinx and/or as members of any other marginalised community. We welcome proposals that pursue or explore an expansive range of forms (from empirical to speculative), as well as interdisciplinary approaches to early cinema. Graduate students and contingent or independent scholars are encouraged to apply. The recipient of this bursary will also be invited to contribute to the conference proceedings publication and their registration fees will be waived. If you would like to be considered for this bursary, please send your proposal (app. 300 words) and a brief biographical statement to domitorsecretary@domitor.simplelist.com. If you have already submitted an abstract for the Domitor 2022 conference and would like to also be considered for the bursary, please forward us your proposal. We look forward to your submissions.
