The 2016 archival film festival, Il Cinema Ritrovato, will be held in Bologna from June 25-July 2. This year marks the festival’s 30th anniversary, which will bring together a rich community of archivists, critics, historians, artists, and the public to celebrate with hundreds of programmed film events. The programming covers a rich international range of familiar and obscure titles dating from 1896 to the present. Il Cinema Ritrovato will also overlap in Bologna with the 72nd FIAF Congress, which takes place from June 22-28 and focuses on “Restoration,” a theme that promises to make for an exciting intersection with the Ritrovato festival.
